One of the most obvious signs of aging is a saggy, wrinkled neck. This is caused by a decreased muscle tone, diminishing fat beneath the skin, and lack of elasticity. Over exposure to the sun and smoking are self-inflicted toxins that accelerate the aging process. At Laser Aesthetics of Colorado, we believe that our Centennial laser neck tightening are receiving the most effective, non-invasive procedure to ensure a rejuvenated appearance to the neck.
Candidates for Non-Surgical Neck Tightening
- Patients with mild to moderate loose skin on their neck
- Patients with inadequate skin laxity, possible resulting from a surgical procedure
- Patients seeking an improved appearance to their neck without undergoing an invasive, surgical procedure
About Non-Surgical Neck Tightening
Non-surgical neck tightening treatments are designed to tighten the skin around the neck with no incisions, and minimal, if any discomfort. While the results are clearly rejuvenating, they are less extensive and obvious than the results of surgical neck tightening. To achieve the desired result, most patients require multiple treatments. Temporary negative side effects include redness, swelling and numbness in the treated area. Most Centennial non-surgical neck tightening patients report these negative side effects are temporary, lasting just a few days.
How Non-Surgical Neck Tightening is Performed
There are three techniques commonly used to perform non-surgical neck tightening: radiofrequency, intense pulsed light (IPL) and ultrasound. Radiofrequency treatment involves a treatment device that is placed on the skin and emits radiofrequency energy deep into the skin tissue. This process stimulates collagen production and patients feel a gentle vibration and alternating cooling and heating sensations during the treatment.
IPL treatment requires a handheld device be used to target the deep layers of the skin with infrared light. The light heats the treated area to achieve the desired result and more than one pass over the treated area may be required.
Ultrasound treatment involves a device that allows the operator to see an image of the tissue beneath the skin, allowing for an accurate treatment. Small thermal bursts are emitted using ultrasound to stimulate the deep layers of the skin without affecting the skin surface.p>
